I must be an idiot, I went to re-read all the letters and cards in my drawer, including all my diaries. A BIG BIG look into the past, MINE to be specific.
Diary and what it meant. In dictionary.com, diary means "a daily record, usually private, especially of the writer's own experiences, observations, feelings, attitudes, etc."Your might think it's just a plain ordinary book, but to me, diary means a whole lot. It's more than just that, diary can be a quiet listener, a loyal friend, a sponge, a confidant, something that will forever be by your side. It keeps your sorrows, happiness, frustrations and most importantly your every bit of growing up. So much so that I can't emphasize how important is a diary to me, through the times when you can't agree with your own self, when you're struggling to find an identity, when you feel as tho the whole world is against you and when you think no one else bothers to listen to what you've got to say, it's the book that has always been there doing everything. Well, you won't understand anything that I've typed here if you've haven kept a single diary before.
I don't know how many of your actually keep diaries, but I do, and it has become a part of me, I don't write daily but whenever there's a need, I will pen down something. I started writing at a tender age of 9 but I got into serious writing when I'm 14. Good and bad, good cos writing helps you to reflect, bad that it's one way. Prior to the introduction of blogs, I really did write daily! Yea, at a young age of 14, 15, probably there's too much to pour and reflect at that time? The times when you gotta be always away from home, 2weeks, 1 month, 3months? Be in a foreign land filled with cheenas, and your skills is nothing close to theirs? When you can't complain to your mama for every unhappiness or unfairness that you've experienced, when your mama comes visit you in the middle of the trip and you're forced to say byebye? When you're only just a young TEEN! OMG, EMO MAX AT THAT TIME OK!
Well, I don't really know what's my point of writing this post here, but I just thought that I should give some credits to all my diaries for making me who I am right now.
Thanks for being with me through good and bad times.
I re-read some of my entries and I laughed, oh-how-naive, oh-how-childish, and for some, I couldn't even remember who I was writing on! lol. The difference between a blog and a diary is definitely HANDWRITTING! yes, handwritting reveals everything, your mood, your tone, what you're feeling then, how much anger you had within you, and how much happiness or sadness you're having when you write. Amazing isn't it? This makes us human and this makes us unique.
My books hold a great deal to me, after the first book, I never thought of letting others get hold of it ever again. It's a storybook, a personalized one, content is all about things that I felt really deep inside and it is too precious to just give it away easily. Stuff that you won't see from the me that you're currently interacting with. Very scary huh? But I'm not saying that I'm faking all out, it's just, like I said, everyone has got their inner and external sides. How much of my inner side you've seen depends on how close you're to me. Absolutely makes sense right? How can you be close to that person if you only stop at their external world? Think about it. So don't go around calling everyone your bestest friend when you know shit about him/her? =D At least for me, I don't, when I call you my best/good friend, you really are, TRUST ME ON THAT!
Just becos I know how much it meant to me, I wanna let someone that too meant a lot to me, safeguard my precious. I don't know how else to show but I guess this is my way of showing.
Please take good care of my books. They aren't gems, diamonds or stack of money, but they are very important to me, just like what you are to me.
I realised it's so much better having it written out in words, I suck at saying it out seriously.
But ya, that's my intention of giving you the books.
Please take good care of yourself and I hope the books will take great care of you too.
Let it be your listener, confidant, diehard fan, and sponge to absorb all your sorrows.
You always say I won't be alone, you too, because you never will be. =D
I will see you again, my most beloved friend.
Till I see you and my books, take great care!!
