A year ago, a bold decision, I left home in hope of pursuing my dream.
Leaving home was something that I've never thought of till the later part of year 2010.
Thinking back, it was never an easy call.
To persuade everyone including myself, that this is the route I wanna walk on.
Had a brief farewell, and off I go, embarking on my new and exciting journey.
Missing home was inevitable, but that's exactly what makes people stronger isn't it?
Tears of homesickness wasn't for nothing, every teardrops has its worth.
Being a full time student again, it's hard to describe how much this symbolized.
It's an envy, oops correction, seeing my mates leading a full-time student life USED to be my envy.
Although I used to earn a decent sum with adequate income to support my spendings, life wasn't fulfilling, the drive just wasn't there.
And that to me, was pivotal and a major turning point.
Nobody said it will be a better route and no one said it's easy.
Nothing is guaranteed.
I know this is cliche, but life is indeed short.
Leave footprints but not regrets.
Create memories but not scars.
Maximise happiness but not sorrows.
Okay this is a little exaggerating, but my point is, I don't wanna regret some time down my life.
For many situations in the past, I lack the means to steer myself clear or to pave a better route. And for this, I really hate to be someone that's incapable of controlling and deciding my own life.
I'm not a kid that only make rash decisions, this was what I wanted to convey to my dad then but I know words in this case doesn't warrant much trust.
I've got to prove, prove to my parents that my decision was right, and they were right in theirs too.
Right in believing and allowing me to pursue what that awaits.
Journey is long and this is only the beginning.
For those that are willing to leave their home for a better future, I've learnt to respect and see them in different light. Some dreamt about having a study-abroad experience their entire life, but I'm pretty sure that there's definitely an instance which they just don't wanna leave as home is still the best.
But if you ask me, so what now, what's next.
I can't say for sure.
What that lies ahead is again full of question marks.
One more year, 2 more semesters to go before donning the grad-robes.
What a school year to look forward to isn't it?
No longer a noob, no longer a little girl that needs someone to always be there.
I'm all grown up, yes I'm, and am gonna turn twenty-three in less than a month's time.
Damn, why am I so old already?
hahahahhaha, NO, I kid, will never label myself as OLD.
I'm forever young, At HEART, no matter what! :D
Date of returning? Not so soon I suppose.
Because there's more to acquire before coming home.
Well, misses are for sure, but keeping them close to my heart is what that propels me to go further.
If you ask me what's my biggest take-away?
I would say, love.
It's love that kept me going all these while.
The power of it that I witnessed.
The greatness of it that I felt.
So now, exactly a year later, I'm so glad that my heart didn't waver then.
And so, it's the time to say SEE YOU guys soon.
Thanks for the wonderful time your have given me this vacation, I don't know how much we've drifted or how much things have passed us by.
But I really thank god for this looooooong looooong break to be back.
It's time to shed off the KGs gained, lead a healthy lifestyle and back to being a responsible student.
I miss my turner and pans, I miss whipping up my own meals, I miss the clear blue seas, I miss the corica apple strudel and I miss the cheap yet tasty pizzas.
But I know all these aren't even comparable to how much I'm gonna miss home, miss mum, miss dad, miss my fam, my friends and my everything here.
If 2012 is the last of everything, if 2012 is the end,
If 2012 is like the movie 2012.
I hope to live the best out of it.
Till I see you again my dear little red dot, sayo.
Till I breathe you again my little red dot, sayo.
I will be good, just like what I've promised last year.
So god, please let my beloved be good as well, just like what you've promised me last year too.
Let this be another rewarding school year!
Come on come on!
