So long 2021
Last day of 2021 and I thought to dedicate this important post to my favourite activity in the past decade.
Thankful for you, for soothing my heart all these years and allowing me to learn so many life lessons.
Through riding, I learnt that if I truly love something, I will never think of giving up.
Be it rain or shine, happy or sad, I will always jump at the opportunity to be part of it. Just like how I've always look forward to riding no matter the circumstances.
And also through riding, I know that so long I'm clear about my destination, it doesn't matter which route I take as I will end up there no matter what. With this thought, it gave me the courage to veer off course and most importantly, to enjoy and maximise my experience throughout the process.
Finally, through riding, I learnt that wind is really so therapeutic. I once read an excerpt from a motorcyclist that described his love for riding and he says "Therapy is expensive, wind is cheap". I couldn't agree more. I lost count of the number of times my tears flow when I was riding, well maybe it's my brain's way of signalling to my heart that it's safe now, you can let your guards down and so the tears start flowing... =x But I'm just very amazed how I miraculously felt better every single time when I ride against the wind. The feeling was inexplicable, as though it's nature's way of cleansing our soul. At least for me, the wind acts as though it was wiping away my tears, telling me it's okay, I'm here. haha but ya, thank you for that. If not for riding, I probably wouldn't discover how wind is so therapeutic for me.
2021 is probably the year where I took cycling to another level.
Cycling to places that I never knew existed or are accessible.
It has been phenomenal despite the never-ending restrictions.
And I wish 2022 will be one where our heart to explore and experience new things never stops.
Blessed new year everyone!
6023km with you in 2021, and many more to go.
Remembering the joy that I've always had when I ride.
